Software Engineer (Senior/Experienced) x2

Sanctus Group is a small but mighty team. We offer platforms that connect people & combine well-being, growth, real-time employee sentiment, and performance for the workplace.

Trusted by progressive startups, scaleups, and brands, including Onfido, Boston Consulting Group, and BBC Studios, we provide structured coaching, mentoring, and listening solutions to drive meaningful change and growth.

Role Description

We are looking for two people to join us as full-time remote experienced Software Engineers. One to work on our coaching platform (React, Node, Typescript, Postgres) and the other to work on our employee listening platform. (React, Golang, Postgres).

Unfortunately those vacancies are not suitable for newly trained/qualified engineers or juniors. We’re looking for people with a few years of experience under their belt.

Salary & benefits

We’re keeping an open mind, but expect that the right candidates will be seeking salaries in the region of £60,000 – £75,000 per annum.

Successful candidates will also have access to the following non-contractual benefits:

  • £100 per month homeworking allowance (taxable)
  • £500 annual wellbeing allowance (taxable), payable monthly
  • £500 annual learning and development allowance (taxable), payable monthly
  • Death in Service at 4x salary
  • [Optional] Private healthcare (taxable benefit in kind)
  • [Optional] Sanctus coaching

You would be a good fit if you are…

  • ✅ Independent: You’re comfortable working independently & autonomously or as part of a very small team. You’re comfortable with remote working.
  • ✅ Pragmatic: You’re comfortable in ambiguity and happy to improvise to reach sensible solutions. You aim for progress, over perfection.
  • ✅ Technical: You have an enthusiasm for developing web apps. You don’t need to have a perfect stack match, but it would be beneficial to have experience in our stack which is Typescript, React, GCP. For the Rungway role we are also looking for Golang experience.

Our legacy codebase is written in Ruby/RoR and hosted in Heroku, so bonus brownie points if you’re comfortable with Ruby so that you can help us rewrite and modernise the codebase.

You may have a hard time if…

  • 👎 You’re looking for a high level of process and structure.
  • 👎 You thrive better in larger teams and more well defined roles and responsibilities.
  • 👎 You are looking for a greenfield project.
