How Evoluted Elevated Employee Performance with Sanctus Coaching
About
Evoluted is an award-winning, fully integrated digital agency that provides design, development, and digital marketing services. It was founded in 2006 and originally served SMEs in South Yorkshire/Derbyshire. Since a change of leadership in 2022, it’s since expanded to serve a wider national and international market.
It’s achieved BCorp certification and has led the way on several initiatives that place people over profit, creating a positive work environment with a culture of sustainable employee performance and psychological safety.
The Purpose
During the pandemic and lockdowns, Evoluted’s staff felt increasingly worried, isolated, and stressed. Loneliness became a significant issue because the team, which had previously worked closely together in person every day, suddenly had to adapt to being fully remote. So, they started looking for opportunities to support staff well-being.
The team trialled a few options to tackle the low morale and stress, such as social events (in person when possible but mostly online), virtual co-working using tools like Google Meet, and introducing client delivery hours. However, none of these fully solved the issue.
The challenges took a heavy toll on people and business performance. At one of the company’s busiest and most challenging periods, morale reached an all-time low. This naturally impacted quality and productivity levels, which had a knock-on effect on reputation and service delivery.
As a people-first business, taking care of employees is a high priority, but Evoluted had to find a solution that ensured a high standard of work.
The Approach
The team became aware of Sanctus after meeting former CEO George Bettany at a Startup Weekend Sheffield event. After reviewing our offering, testimonials, and approach to coaching, it became a no-brainer.
Sanctus provided an opportunity for Evoluted’s people to have professional, guided support to discuss important professional or personal matters, and a place where they could tackle topics in a structured way, something they often weren’t equipped to offer support and guidance on (such as feeling stressed, isolated, etc due to the pandemic).
The most valuable thing for the Evoluted team has been the range of approaches and support methods employed by each team member and the individual challenges they’ve sought support for.
The Impact
The team is really open about using Sanctus. They casually mention that they’ve booked a session, signpost other team members our way, and share resources or helpful conversations with each other. It’s clear that Sanctus supports team motivation and inspiration.
Providing a judgment-free space to talk about work and life allows them to work with lighter shoulders, giving them more headspace to share ideas and solutions to further support each other and clients.
Coaching has also impacted several team members’ confidence levels, helping them overcome imposter syndrome and improving their speaking and communication skills. This has had a positive impact on their daily work and client interactions.
The impact Sanctus has had on its people is further reflected in Evoluted’s eNPS. Over the last few years, it’s grown from just 2 to 29 in the most recent employee satisfaction survey in March 2024. 91% of team members stated they’re “Extremely Satisfied” in their roles.
Over a third of the Evoluted team have now used Sanctus, whether for one-off support or ongoing coaching to tackle work and life issues. Most months, all sessions are booked, showing the value drop-in online coaching provides to the team.
Several team members have also said that coaching has helped them “organize” their thoughts, helping them tackle mental health challenges more effectively and reframing how they view the world. It’s also helped them become more resilient against naturally occurring stresses that are part of working in an agency.
One of the team members who received monthly coaching sessions to focus on personal development has since grown from a delivery team member to a department head.
