Jigsaw Business Solutions x Sanctus Coaching
About
Founded in 2013, Jigsaw are the gift card experts. They work with retailers to launch, manage, and grow gift card programmes, reaching new audiences and unlocking profitable revenue streams for their clients and partners.
Anna Tillison is Jigsaw’s Director of People. She has just over two decades experience in HR and when she isn’t supporting people at work, she’s more often than not looking after two young adults and just as many cats at home.
The Purpose
Jigsaw had undergone a period of organisational change with new managers coming through, employees being promoted into their first director positions, and responsibilities shifting around the business.
Anna recognised the need to provide personalised, meaningful support for the next generation of leaders. She wanted to ensure they could lead in an authentic, empathetic way and were able to maintain high performance without burning out.
The Approach
The Sanctus approach to leadership development goes beyond traditional manager training. It’s designed to equip leaders at all levels with the tools needed to thrive in a modern work setting.
From learning to lead with empathy and authenticity to spotting when people are struggling and having the knowledge and confidence to take effective action.
The Impact
Initially, Anna enrolled on Connected Leadership to try it out for herself, before rolling it out to the rest of the team. We’ve since coached 5 more leaders at Jigsaw as part of Connected Leadership.
Going through the journey together helped them form a bond and allowed them to make brave, tough decisions. Their leaders felt better at doing their jobs, more self-aware, and better at managing their time.
The tailored support from Connected Leadership coaching has not only been practical for Anna in supporting her wellbeing, it’s allowed her to focus more of her attention on the people at work who need her. And coaching has given her the tools and perspectives to be a better source of support for everyone at Jigsaw.
“At the beginning of Covid, my role was very functional. People needed me to say ‘we’re going to do things like this’ or ‘this is how we’re going to move forward with that’. Now, it’s much more about empowering people, taking them on this journey so that they can support themselves as much as each other. Sanctus Coaching has been instrumental in helping us do that.”
“I’ve seen a greater level of vulnerability within our director team, which is enabling us to have more open conversations about the things that are challenging, but matter. There is great role modelling going on among the senior team, and over time this is creating a ‘new normal’.”
