Legendary Sanctus coach, Audrey, wanted to share her story on how the stigma around sex impacted her mental health down the years and how having an open conversation can help others in their own experiences. Sex is such a taboo topic to talk about and it being a taboo topic can have a really detrimental effect on our mental health. We all strive for what we deem to be 'perfect' but if you met that 'perfect' person, you wouldn't like them. For Mental Health Awareness Week, James spoke to Agnieszka Walczuk who, during childhood, developed a strong sense of comfort with food. From then on, an issue with her body image arose that developed throughout the years. Whilst she came close to adopting a bulimic approach to dealing with her body image issues, her relationship with a relative dealing with anorexia allowed her to see where that route could get her. After forty two years of battling, Agnieszka is more comfortable with her body that she has ever been. She sits down with Sanctus head coach, Sophie Miller, and James to see issues that they find are arising around the topic of body image. Team member storms out of a meeting?? (NOT CLICKBAIT) Well...It was the three year anniversary for James starting at Sanctus, and the team wanted to surprise him in a completely different way... Here is how it went... James: Last week it was my 3 year anniversary at Sanctus ? I woke up in the morning and when I wrote in my journal saw the date ? During the day I thought; ? "It's a shame I'm not doing anything to celebrate my 3 years, but I suppose when you're 'at the top' this is just the way it is" ? Later that day, the team surprised me during a fake team meeting - "Happy 3 Years!" ? I was a mixture of delighted and traumatised at the level of surprise, but mostly I was so happy to get the chance to spend a free hour with the team with no agenda ❤️ We've created something new, we're transforming an industry, we're impacting 1000s of people's lives and I'll remember all that ??
