Pride Month 2021

Pride Month commemorates the ongoing pursuit of equal justice and celebrates the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community, and much progress has been made.

There’s still work to be done and this year, as we celebrate Pride, we want to make sure that we also address the Elephant in the Room of the very real mental health challenges many in the LGBTQ+ community face, both in and out of the workplace. Our act of allyship is to shine a light on this Elephant.

Below you’ll find us spreading awareness on some of the uncomfortable stats, as well as personal stories that highlight the real impact that these experiences can have on people.

The stats

To highlight the Elephant in the Room when it comes to mental health stats in the LGBTQ+ community, we’ll be looking at five core areas:

  • The impact of COVID
  • Workplace harassment and discrimination
  • Identity and bringing your full self to work
  • Lack of C-suite representation
  • Allyship in the workplace

How to be an ally at work pack

Every single one of us has a role to play in helping to end the injustice that many in the LGBTQ+ community face, whether we’re part of that community ourselves or not.

We compiled a list of different ways that you can be an Ally in the workplace to those from underrepresented groups.

Sanctus at Pride 2019

Back in 2019 when mass gatherings and street parties were still the norm, the Sanctus team hit Pride to speak to various members of the public about their experiences.
